About
The Cardiology Service at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) aims to provide expert consultative inpatient and outpatient healthcare services for patients suffering from a broad range of cardiac related disease. Our services are provided to Active Duty Military Soldiers, Retired or Prior Service Military Veterans, and to family members who are 18 years or older. Our ability to provide this care is facilitated by two state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratories with highly trained, experienced staffing capable of performing emergent and elective coronary artery stenting and angioplasty on a 24-hour basis. Our catheterization laboratories are also used to complete peripheral vascular interventions, pacemaker and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) implantations. Our cardiologists also perform and/or interpret coronary CT-angiography, trans-thoracic and trans-esophageal echocardiography, cardiac exercise stress testing, electrocardiography and heart rhythm monitoring. Our service works closely with a skilled group of local, network cardiothoracic surgeons who perform Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery and valve replacement procedures at both at WBAMC and other El Paso area hospitals.
All of our cardiologists also provide invaluable educational opportunities for WBAMC internal medicine residents and interns, as well as medical students from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso.
WBAMC Cardiology Services are available to new patients on a referral basis. Patients who have been ordered an echocardiogram, stress test, or any of the other available cardiac studies must call for an appointment during duty hours at: 915-742-9856 or 9857.
