The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement

  • Quality Control

    Quality Control Checks are performed and analyzed according to the recommended guidelines of the manufacture and accrediting agencies.

  • CAP Proficiency Program

    The College of Pathologists' (CAP) external proficiency testing program challenges the laboratory with unknown samples to demonstrate the laboratory's proficiency. The CAP Proficiency Program meets the JACHO lab requirement.

  • Peer Review

    An internal program developed to monitor individual section performance in areas such as turn-around-times for tests, waiting time for phlebotomy, and surgical/cytological case turn-around-times. Critical performance areas are identified, goals and standards are set, and periodic review conducted
