Clinic Information

The WBAMC Endocrinology Clinic provides inpatient and outpatient endocrine consultative services for WBAMC, Holloman Air Force Base, White Sands Missile Range and other military treatment facilities within the TRICARE Central Region.
 
Common endocrine conditions treated include thyroid, pituitary, gonadal, adrenal, calcium and bone disorders. We also specialize in thyroid cancers and complicated or difficult to manage diabetes including patients on insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors. We do ultrasound-guided thyroid fine-needle aspirations as well as metabolic testing.  Our Endocrine Clinic also specializes in the prevention of  osteopenia and osteoporosis with various treatments.  Routine consults submitted through TRICARE are usually seen in 2-4 weeks (14 to 30 days), but this may vary depending on staffing and military operation requirements. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to allow necessary paperwork and vital signs to be completed prior to the visit with your provider.
 
Telephone messages left for providers are generally answered within 24 hours (make sure you leave a valid return number). Patients are requested to call for medication refills Monday through Thursday (not Friday) to allow your provider time to process your request.
