- Interns/residents get one day a week off during inpatient rotations
- The General Medicine (GM) teams take new admissions every third day
- The Intensive Care (MICU) and Cardiology (IPC) team take new admissions daily
Day in the Life of an Intern on an Outpatient Service
0800 - 1700 - Work with that subspecialist to evaluate patients and learn about their disease manifestations and management. From 1200-1300 you will also attend academic conference. If you are assigned to the Internal Medicine Clinic, you will be in the IMC for that half-day instead of going to your normal rotation. You will staff your patients with the assigned teaching staff.
