Eligibility

All military personnel, Department of Army Civilians (DOD), and Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) employees at Ft. Bliss and WBAMC.

The Occupational Health Clinic supports a safe and healthful working environment for the military and civilian employees at Fort Bliss and William Beaumont Army Medical Center.

Appointments

All visits to the OH Physician must be made by appointment. Appointments are scheduled by contacting 915 742-9952/5247. Other visits, like inprocessing,of Active Duty Military Personnel and N95 Respirator Clearance are on a walk in basis per our walk in hours. Patients are reminded to show courtesy by notifying the Occupational Health Clinic of appointment cancellations. Children are not allowed in the Occupational Health Clinic.

Services Provided

  • Pre-Deployment and Post Deployment physicals for DoD Civilians.
  • Pre-employment examinations for those individuals selected for positions with the Federal Government. (Also provide courtesy physicals for those DoD Civilians transferring to other Government facilities)
  • Medical Surveillance examinations for employees working in areas with potential exposures to health hazards.
  • Return-to-work evaluations are at the Supervisors' discretion for employees absent from work for more than three (Ft. Bliss) or five (WBAMC) consecutive calendar days because of illness, injury or surgery.
  • In-processing of the following WBAMC personnel: Active Duty soldiers, Activated Reservist, Contract employees (does not cover all contractors), Students, American Red Cross Volunteers. Must bring immunization records for review.
  • Pregnancy Surveillance Program is maintained to support a safe and healthful work environment during pregnancy. All pregnant employees—military and civilians should notify Occupational Health Clinic as soon the pregnancy has been determined, if you feel the work environment may be hazardous.
  • Tuberculosis Surveillance Program maintained for high-risk WBAMC, personnel to provide detection and control of tuberculosis.
  • Job-Related Immunizations, as well as Influenza Immunization Program year round.
  • Employee education about Job-Related Hazards.
  • Other services provided per job position requirements: N95 Respirator Clearance, Pulmonary Function Testing, EKGs, Hearing Conservation Program, Vision Screenings
  • On-the-Job Injuries: All employees are to report the on-the-job injury immediately to their supervisor, who then must complete a CA-1 on-line and submit to the DOL. Active Duty Military personnel must complete DA 285AB. Needle-sticks and exposures to blood/body fluids must be seen in the ER ASAP and should follow up with OHC within 72 hours

All employees who are injured on-the-job will report to the Emergency Room, WBAMC. Injured employee to ensure the CA 20 is completed by attending physician.(MD Co-signatures are required for Pas and NPs.)

Follow-up care will be provided at the Occupational Health Clinic by appointment with the OH Physician and/or Registered Nurse.
