Influenza Campaign Information

Flu vaccination graphic image

Influenza is unpredictable. While flu spreads every year, the timing, severity, and length of the season varies from one season to another.

WBAMC’s influenza campaign to promote vaccinations usually begins around the month of November.  Please check back to this page periodically as we update the information constantly! The influenza campaign is over when 100% of hospital staff are vaccinated, 100% of Fort Bliss active-duty service members are vaccinated, and all family members and remaining TRICARE beneficiaries receive the vaccine upon request and availability.

Active-Duty Service Members:

Vaccinations for Active-Duty service members are given at their units during the Influenza campaign.  If any AD service member received their influenza vaccination outside of their military health system, they must provide documental proof in order to update their records.  Information needed is:

  • Date the vaccine was given

  • Vaccine name or code

  • Manufacturer name or number

  • Lot number

Please provide this information to your unit or primary care provider in order to update your medical records.

Active-Duty Family Members:

Family members of ADSMs can contact their assigned clinic or primary care clinic by calling the appointment line (915-742-2273) to set up a flu vaccination appointment. Pediatric influenza vaccinations are available for children who are three months to 36 months of age at their pediatric clinic and must make an appointment to receive the vaccine.

Other Beneficiaries:

Retirees and Veterans can receive the flu vaccine through the El Paso Veterans Health Clinic, their primary care clinic, or through an approved TRICARE network pharmacy.
