We, at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center Department of Behavioral Health, appreciate your interest in the Doctoral Psychology Internship Training Program offered at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC). The DBH currently offers this program to counseling and clinical psychology doctoral candidates. As WBAMC is dedicated to providing residents with a world class education to help them become competent and skilled professionals, the DBH also holds the same high standard in providing interns with the necessary training and experience to help them develop the skills and professional identity requisite to become competent professionals and effective multicultural therapists. The training program has been specifically designed to give the intern a full range of experience found within a military training facility which includes individual and group counseling; inpatient treatment; post traumatic stress disorder programs; alcohol and substance abuse program observations; neuropsychological assessment; child and adolescent evaluation; triage, intake and crisis counseling; and case consultation. The DBH is part of the El Paso Psychology Internship Consortium (EPPIC) which includes Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center of El Paso and the University of Texas at El Paso – University Counseling Center to create an overall training program that can provide interns with both depth and breadth in their overall training experience.

Doctoral students from the clinical and counseling psychology fields who meet eligibility criteria are welcome to apply for the program. WBAMC currently has three available positions for the Doctoral Internship Program. The program is designed to be a 12 month 40 hour per week internship program which starts the first day of August. The staff of the Department of Behavioral Health is dedicated to providing a high standard of service to the intern community of WBAMC.
